The note draw duration buttons in the Piano Roll view and Staff view define the note duration when drawing new note events with the Smart tool or Freehand tool , and correspond to the note draw duration value in the Tools module.Figure 54. Note draw duration. Specify the desired duration for new notes: whole note, half note, quarter note, eighth note, 16th note, or 32nd note.
Triplet. Reduces the duration of the selected note draw duration by 2/3 of its original duration (three note events fit in the space of two).
Dotted. Increases the duration of the selected note draw duration by half of its original value (150%).
