Duplicate Track button

Being able to quickly duplicate an existing track can be a time-saver in various mixing and recording situations. For example, you may want to double-track an instrument, or layer multiple copies of a track with slight panning and effect variations.

The Duplicate Track button in the Track view simplifies the process of duplicating an existing track (with or without its clips).

To duplicate a track

1.	Select the track(s) that you want to duplicate. SONAR will use the focused track if no tracks are selected.

2.	Click the Duplicate Track button .

All duplicated tracks appear consecutively.

 

Tip: You can assign the Duplicate Track(s) command to a keyboard shortcut. To do so, go to Edit > Preferences > Customization - Keyboard Shortcuts, select Track View in the Area drop-down menu, then assign Tracks | Duplicate Track(s) to the desired shortcut. For details, see Key bindings.

To specify default settings

To specify which track settings you want to duplicate, right-click the Duplicate Track button to open the Duplicate Track Settings dialog box. You can specify whether or not to duplicate the following settings:

Events (clips and automation)

Properties (name, color, volume, output, etc.)

Effects

Sends
