Exporting ► Exporting MIDI

Choose File > Export > Standard MIDI File to open the Save Copy dialog box. The project must contain MIDI data to make the command available.

Under Save as type, select the desired MIDI file format:

MIDI Format 0. Standard MIDI File that has all channels merged into one track.
*
MIDI Format 1. Standard MIDI File that keeps each channel on a separate track.
*
Riff MIDI Format 0. Riff MIDI File of Format 0.
*
Riff MIDI Format 1. Riff MIDI File of Format 1.

Click the Save button.

Go to File > Export > Standard MIDI File to open the Save Copy dialog box.

Click the Save button.

Go to File > Export > MIDI Groove Clip to open the Export MIDI Groove Clip dialog box.

Click the Save button.
Cakewalk exports the MIDI Groove clip, which contains the information displayed in the Clip Properties Inspector’s Groove Clip section, except for the Pitch (semitones) field, which does not get exported.
