Searching for events

The events in a project have many different parameters. For example, all MIDI notes have a channel, starting time, pitch, velocity, and duration. Controllers have a controller number and value. SONAR makes it simple to find, select, and modify events that have certain values for specific attributes.

Here are some of the things you can do and the commands that you would use to do them:

Select all the events in a project that have the specified attributes	Edit > Select > By Filter
Modify an existing selection to keep only those events that have the specified attributes	Edit > Select > By Filter
Replace all events that meet specified attributes with modified versions of the events	Process > Find/Change

These capabilities can help you find problem spots or errors in a project or make systematic changes to events that have particular attributes. All of these capabilities rely on the use of an event filter, which lets you choose the types of events you want to work with and the range of values in which you are interested.
