Note: If you customize a color in the Preferences dialog box, it will override the corresponding color in the UI theme (see Customization - Themes). If you change the UI theme, any custom colors will be lost, and the corresponding UI theme colors will be used instead. Be sure to save any custom colors as a color preset if you don't want to lose them when switching UI themes.The Colors section has the following fields:
Note: The search filter is applied to the current Color Category. Select the All Colors color category if you want to search all available screen elements.This list shows all the items in SONAR you can set the color of. Highlight the one you want to change. You can change multiple Elements simultaneously by CTRL-clicking or CTRL-dragging. Click Select All to select all screen elements in the current color category.This button opens the Import Color Set dialog box, which allows you to import a color arrangement, or a group of presets.This button opens the Export Color Set dialog box, which allows you to export a color arrangement, or a group of presets.The Choose Color button allows you to pick a specific color for the highlighted item in the Screen Element list. Click the Choose Color button to open the Color dialog box, click the color you want, and click OK. The highlighted item in the Screen Element list changes to the color you chose.Pressing the Select All button selects all screen elements in the current Color Category.
Default. Track strips are not colored, and tracks do not inherit the color of the bus they are assigned to.
Follow Bus. Tracks inherit the color of the bus they are assigned to.
Note: Entire channel strips can only be colorized when using the Mercury theme (see UI themes). The Show Strip Colors option is not available when using the Tungsten theme. A future version of SONAR will allow entire channel strips to be colorized in any theme.The Show strip colors option allows you to tint track and bus strips in the Track view, Console view and Inspector when you assign a custom track color. Disable this option if you only want to color clips (waveform or MIDI data).If Show strip colors is disabled, the current track is always highlighted.
Default. Choosing this option causes SONAR to use its original color and design for the background.
None. Choosing this option causes SONAR to use a flat, gray color for the background.
Custom. Choosing this option opens the Wallpaper Bitmap dialog box, which allows you to choose a graphics file (bitmap) to use as the background.
