The Process > Apply Effect > Fade/Envelope command lets you specify accurately the shape of a fade for a selection, clip, or track. This is a destructive edit—it permanent alters the data that you apply it to. To apply a nondestructive volume change to selected data, see Creating and editing automation envelopes.The Process > Apply Effect > Fade/Envelope command opens the Fade/Envelope dialog box, which has the following fields:Name. Use this field to choose the kind of fade you want to apply to the selected data, from the following choices:Fade graph. This graph shows a visual representation of the type of fade you choose in the Name field. The graph changes as you drag the line or curve in different directions.Reset button. Click this button to restore the graph to the shape of the fade that’s listed in the Name field.
