Hollywood Undead

Los Angeles, CA ~ROCK BAND, PRODUCERS

With over 3 million records sold internationally, J-Dog who is one of the primary writers of Hollywood Undead relies on Cakewalk’s software to craft sounds that never allow the band to sound dated.  Rapture and Dimension Pro have been instrumental in J-Dog’s world of thoughtfully combining electronic tones with their unique arrangements.  Now with Rapture Pro in hand, he is finding even more ways to craft distinctive sounds for not only Hollywood Undead, but his own projects as well.

Cakewalk’s software has always been a go-to for me and the band. They are one of the few software companies who understand people who want to sound different.

Hailing from a city that literally chews people up and spits them out, L.A.’s Hollywood Undead has managed to prove themselves beyond reasonable doubt; and on multiple levels?again and again.  The band dropped a musical bomb out of nowhere with their debut album on A&M/Octone where they concocted an explosive cocktail of hip hop, rock and metal, forging an alternative style that blew the scene up.  Since then, it’s been a blistering international rollercoaster ride of street credibility and success.

Hollywood Undead’s sound cuts with a distinct hip hop swagger and a brooding, hard rock aggression. The band recorded seventeen songs with production by Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails), Don Gilmore (Linkin Park) and Deuce.  J-Dog describes the sound best: "It's different genres mixed together with no holds barred. The rap songs are straight-up club songs. The rock songs are in your face and industrial. It's a collaboration of six people with different thoughts, coming together and not holding back." Charlie Scene elaborates further, "It's the truth about what average, suburban teens are thinking. No one else is rapping about how those kids party and what they go through in life, but we are."
